2020 Census Resources
This page offers important resources from Placer Counts— and other sources.
Every household began receiving mail regarding the 2020 Census in March. It’s important to complete your census because:
For every person not counted, Placer County loses $1,000 per year for 10 years in federal funding. That’s $10,000 per person not counted for the next ten (10) years!
The Census determines funding levels for schools, healthcare and hospitals, roads, low-income programs, wildfire protection equipment and much more.
If you don’t fill out the Census, enumerators will be knocking on your door to get you to complete the census.
The information you provide is confidential. It cannot be used against you by anyone or any agency including law enforcement, the CIA, U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), or Homeland Security. Confidentiality is protected by Title 13 of the U. S. Constitution
Due to COVID-19, the deadline to complete the Census has been extended to October 31, 2020.
